GARY R. LOWDER

After twenty years of performing Gary Lowder has returned to his Carolina roots ! In the 70's Gary was  the lead vocalist for a young group called the Twilights , who would later regroup to become one of the South's premier funk & soul horn bands ....Hot Smokin Brass. This group was Jackie Wilson's back up 
band for a period in the seventies before he passed away. 
   Growing up and performing in the South ,Gary had the opportunity to perform in shows with the Drifters, The Four tops,Ben E King, The Shirells,Frankie Vallie,Wilson Picket,The Righteous Brothers,Wayne Cochran & the CC Riders,Tommy James& The Shondells,  Mel & Tim, and Rufus Thomas .
   In the mid eighty's Gary joined "Trademark", a show band that toured in  the US and Canada. While living in Minneapolis he formed The Gary Lowder Band , which later lost two of it's members... keyboardist (Tommy Elms), and  funky bass man (Sonny Thompson )  to  Prince & The New  Power Generation.
Other artist that Gary has performed with in various shows , concerts, or festivals include: Tom Jones, Chicago, and Blood,Sweat, & Tears.
While performing in Minneapolis,Gary was invited to sing the National Anthem at the Minnesota State Fair for the beginning of the Miller stock car race  which was televised on ESPN.
    Gary was also a winner on the national televised show "You Can Be A Star" on the (TNN network).
In the early nineties, he produce his first contemporary gospel CD  ..."Lead Us On" ... a collection of funky R& B  tracks which were  influenced by all of the  soul & R&B artist he grew up with
in the Carolinas.
   Gary's  music has been heard across the US,Canada,Central America , Greece and London.   His style has been described as....
